Apple introduced its new artificial intelligence-supported service at the 2024 WWDC event
Apple Intelligence is a new artificial intelligence service integrated into Apple devices, introduced at the 2024 WWDC event. This service includes next-generation features of Siri, Genmoji, and tools like Image Playground. Apple Intelligence, which is currently available for free, will remain that way for the next three years. However, Apple plans to introduce a subscription model for this service as it develops more advanced AI features in the future.
Apple Intelligence focuses on on-device artificial intelligence operations, and since Apple is currently thought to be behind in the artificial intelligence race in the market, it is still early to make this service paid. However, in the long term, Apple is expected to turn this service into a source of revenue. For example, premium features may be offered under the name "Apple Intelligence+" and made available to users for a monthly subscription fee (9to5Mac) (AppleInsider).
Additionally, Apple plans to add additional features to this artificial intelligence service by collaborating with third-party artificial intelligence service providers. Thanks to these collaborations, Apple aims to get a share from the subscription revenues obtained from these services (DNyuz).
As a result, Apple users will be able to benefit from the Apple Intelligence service for free for now, but a subscription system for more advanced features may be introduced after three years. This strategy is seen as a step in line with Apple's goal of generating more revenue in software and services.
