Domestic chip design from Arçelik and YongaTek
Arçelik and YongaTek started a project for domestic chip design within the scope of the Pre-Competition Cooperation and Support Program of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. This two-year project, which started in April 2024, aims to increase Turkey's technological independence and improve its domestic production capacity.
These domestic chips will be used in white goods, small household appliances, consumer electronics and kitchen accessories produced by Arçelik. The design rights will belong entirely to Turkey and the first prototypes are planned to be completed in 2025. The chips aim to optimize energy and resource usage by offering integrated smart sensors and artificial intelligence-supported features.
These developments are considered as an important step that will reduce Turkey's foreign dependency in chip production and encourage domestic technology production. With the completion of the project, Türkiye aims to reach a stronger position in the field of high technology.
